5-axis Deckel Maho 125P on the FrontRunner shop floor, Alcobaça
Alcobaça, Portugal — Est. 2012

Precision is not a promise.

FrontRunner builds injection moulds for the automotive and electrical-appliance industries — to the tolerances OEMs actually specify, proven on paper before a part ever ships.

What we build

Three disciplines, kept in one building

No padded service list. FrontRunner does tooling, machining, and second-stage support — and keeps all three under close control.

01 — Tooling

Every mould starts as a drawing we argue with.

We build injection moulds for automotive interior trim, electrical-appliance housings, and the structural parts in between — the ones that have to seat perfectly on the first shot, not the fifth.

Our tool shop handles work from small precision cavities up to 14-tonne tooling, without handing the hard parts to someone else.

02 — Machining

Thirteen machines. One roof. No handoffs.

5-axis milling, portal machining, EDM spark erosion — the whole chain lives on our floor in Alcobaça, so a mould never leaves the building between rough block and finished cavity.

What we can control, we keep in-house. It's slower to build that way. It's faster to trust.

03 — Second-stage

Your mould's first stop after Asia.

Major injection programmes often get built overseas but run in Europe. We're the local partner who receives the tooling, tests it, and gets it production-ready before it reaches the final plant.

Dismantle. Inspect. Try out. Texture. Adjust. Ship. We handle the parts of second-stage support that actually require being in the room.

Parts we've put into production

A sample of injection-moulded components manufactured on our tooling — automotive interior trim, consoles, and structural parts.

Second-stage support

Your mould's first stop in Europe

Major injection programmes often get built in Asia but run in Europe. We're the local partner that receives, tests, and finishes the mould so it's ready the moment it reaches the final plant.

01

Receive & inspect

Dismantle, clean, and check every component — hardness, treatments, measurements — against the customer's spec.

02

Try-out

Test on the injection machine the customer requires, robot included, and report any non-conformities in detail.

03

Texture

Dismantle for texturing where required, send to the customer's supplier, then reassemble once complete.

04

Adjust

Changes are always needed at this stage. We make them directly, in-house, without round-tripping the mould.

05

Ship to plant

Prepare an acceptance report and ship — or arrange transportation — to the customer's final production line.

How we got here

A short, deliberate history

2012

We opened the shop

Milling parts and manufacturing moulds in response to what the market actually needed.

New machinery installed, 2014
2014

New machines, first export

Added capacity and headcount, and shipped our first tool to the EC market.

Expanded production facility, 2016
2016

Doubled the floor

Added a further 800 m² of production area to keep pace with demand.
